Interests & Activities

The physiological, biochemical and molecular determinants of animal perfomance.
My lab is currently examining several research questions related animal metabolism:

  1. What determines fuel selection during locomotion? We are interested in conserved aspects across species, tissues and physiological states.
  2. What are the consequences of acute and chronic energetic & environmental stress on muscle metabolism? &
  3. What controls the features that change through evolutionary adaptations? Many experimental models are used including rodents, fish and cell culture.
